We have a very accomplished student body who excel in many different sports. From Basketball, Hockey, Camogie, Gaelic Football and Tennis, our children have great facilities and opportunities to engage in sport.

Please click on the tabs in the sidebar to see how our school teams have developed this year!

As afterschool activities, children can engage in:

Athletics and Fitness Classes:

with Nathan Fox  on Tuesdays and Thursdays after school for children of all ability levels. The great thing about these classes is hat they focus on agility, balance and coordination – the building blocks for every sport and physical activity!

Nathan also runs evening classes on Mondays and Thursdays for the whole family! The evening classes will focus on Fitness Assessments, Circuit Training, Step Aerobics, Bootcamp and H.I.I.T. The classes are designed to suit adults and children (aged 7+). For details regarding cost and any other queries contact:

St. Raphaela’s Camogie Team

was started in 2015 and during the school year 2015-2016 we enjoyed a fantastic first season. Ms. Noctor, Ms. Walpole, Yvonne and Tara trained our team, brought us to blitz competitions in Kilmacud Crokes, an we participated in Cumann na mBunscol Átha Cliath. We have reached Croke Park two years in a row!

Our team has grown this year and training takes place on Wednesday afternoons between 2.40-3.40. Please contact Ms. Noctor  for details.

Hockey: We usually play hockey from September until the end of March. Children may begin hockey in 3rd Class, and it takes place once a week on either Mondays or Thursdays. It is important to remember to bring your gumshield, tracksuit and trainers to change into after school. Please contact Marina Douglas on: 087 6451425

Gaelic Football:

Every Monday after school from 2.30pm till 3.30pm, we have a training session for Gaelic Football on our all-weather pitches. The class is open to everyone from 3rd to 6th Class. We play inter-school matches and are members of Cumann na mBunscoil. Gaelic Football is organised and run by parent volunteers – if you would have any interest in football and would like to join up, please speak to Ms. Corry or Laura Crowley

Friday afternoon at 3pm is swimming time for children from 2nd Class upwards. We have as many as 4 instructors, so we have a lot of individual tuition. The end-of-year Gala is an opportunity for parents and friends to see just how high the standard of swimming is in our school.
