For my family tree, I looked on the internet at the 1911 census to get some information on my mum’s side of my family and my dad’s side too. I also interviewed my mum and dad and to get additional  information that wasn’t on the census.

Using the 1911 Census I was able to trace back as far as my great grandparents  and their siblings. I could see what jobs they had, where they lived, what age they were and who was in their families.

I discovered that one of my grandpas  had a cousin who emigrated to Chicago and married a woman called Evelyn Lincoln, a direct ancestor of Abraham Lincoln.

My great, great, great uncle, on my mum’s side of the family was a famous Irish musician (Leo Rowsome). He  made and played the uilleann pipes.

This was a really interesting project and I was amazed by the amount of information that I was able to find. I would like to say a big thank you to my mum and dad for all their help
