Science Technology Engineering Maths #STEM

As part of Maths week 2017 14th – 22nd October; classes have been busy with completing a range of Maths activities. They are loving their Mangahigh Maths challenges. They can continue to log in and develop their Maths skills in Mangahigh  https://www.mangahigh.com/en-gb/

Senior classes have also been busy with Lego Robotic workshops provided by LearnIT education. These workshops complement the STEM, S.E.S.E. and Maths curriculum in a fun and engaging way and enable students to exercise scientific inquiry skills through direct hands on science, maths, engineering & technology activities. Students practiced and developed skills using LEGO robotics and coding/programming on tablets to predict, estimate, observe, measure, and record their investigations.

Road Safety Awareness October 2017

We were delighted to welcome Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport, Shane Ross TD for Carpark Safety week this morning!

This fantastic initiative which raises awareness in our school family about car park safety, wearing high viz clothing and the importance of the safe cross code was enthusiastically supported by all.

Led by the our black panther mascot, the safe cross code routine was enthusiastically practised with students every morning across the yard, for all to hear!

A big thank you to the Road Safety Authority Ireland for providing our students and school community with free high viz gear in support of this important school initiative.
