Camogie Finals 2018
Big Congratulations to our fantastic Camogie team who represented the school tremendously at the Cumann na mBunscol Áth Cliath finals in Croke Park on June 6th. We lost out to Gaelscoil Inse Chór but our team played superbly and we are all so proud. Big thank you to Ms. Noctor and parents involved for all their hard work.

Design a Bridge #EngineersWeek 2018
Check out some of the Amazing Bridges designed and built for our Design a Bridge Competition as part of Engineers Week. The guidelines were the bridge could be no longer than 50cm in length and had to sustain the weight of an apple. Any materials could be used. We were blown away by the creativity and engineering shown. Future engineers in the making…

We have been creating awareness for Internet Safety and Cyber-Bullying throughout the school. Safer Internet Day is an EU wide initiative to promote a safer internet for all users. The Theme for Safer Internet Day 2018 is “Create, connect and share respect: A better internet starts with you” #Up2Us #BeinCtrl
The Flat Stanley Project January 2018
2nd classes with Ms. Noctor and Ms. Rooney have been taking part in The Flat Stanley Project. The Flat Stanley Project has become the longest-lasting literacy project on the web. Student’s send a flat visitor to a school, a celebrity, a family member, a politician or anyone of interest and the recipient returns the little flat guy along with a completed journal and perhaps some souvenirs such as post cards, photos, or special items. 2nd classes wrote letters and have had great response from famous faces with Flat Stanley such as Luke Fitzgerald (Leinster Rugby), Peter Clohessy (Former Ireland Rugby), Ollie Campbell (Former Ireland Rugby), Hugo MacNeill (Former Ireland Rugby) and Gary Ringrose (Ireland Rugby). Molly Lamb took Stanley to visit Kilmacud Crokes where she bumped into some senior ladies football players and also senior men’s footballer David Nestor working hard in the gym. Stanley then got to enjoy a brunch with Dublin’s ladies football players Martha Byrne and Sarah McCaffrey. Such adventures were had! Well done 2nd class!!
BT Young Scientist Exhibition 2018
5th classes had a great day out at the RDS BT Young Scientist and Technology Exhibition on January 12th. They got to preview the fantastic projects and showcases on display. Watch below for highlights…

Science Week 2017
Science Week 2017 took place from 12th – 19th November. http://www.scienceweek.ie We have been celebrating the fascinating worlds of science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) throughout this week. There have been lots of exciting activities happening in each classroom. Excitingly the senior classes took part in the Intel-Mini Scientist competition and had a fantastic exhibition and presentation of projects.

Science Technology Engineering Maths #STEM
As part of Maths week 2017 14th – 22nd October; classes have been busy with completing a range of Maths activities. They are loving their Mangahigh Maths challenges. They can continue to log in and develop their Maths skills in Mangahigh https://www.mangahigh.com/en-gb/
Senior classes have also been busy with Lego Robotic workshops provided by LearnIT education. These workshops complement the STEM, S.E.S.E. and Maths curriculum in a fun and engaging way and enable students to exercise scientific inquiry skills through direct hands on science, maths, engineering & technology activities. Students practiced and developed skills using LEGO robotics and coding/programming on tablets to predict, estimate, observe, measure, and record their investigations.

Road Safety Awareness October 2017
We were delighted to welcome Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport, Shane Ross TD for Carpark Safety week this morning!
This fantastic initiative which raises awareness in our school family about car park safety, wearing high viz clothing and the importance of the safe cross code was enthusiastically supported by all.
Led by the our black panther mascot, the safe cross code routine was enthusiastically practised with students every morning across the yard, for all to hear!
St. Patrick’s Day Celebrations 🍀🍀
The whole school celebrated St.Patrick’s Day and Seachtain na Gaeilge on Thursday 16th March with a variety of dances, songs, poems and performances from every class. We also had the great honour of having the Marshall Academy of Irish Dance with us who performed a range of fantastic dances. Watch for highlights below…
